The Mediation Cabal was a group of Wikipedians who provided informal mediation for disputes on Wikipedia. Assisted by volunteer coordinators, it facilitated communication and helped parties reach an agreement without imposing sanctions or making judgments.
Over time, simple disputes were handled by the dispute resolution noticeboard, and complex ones by formal mediation. After a discussion in 2012, it was closed as redundant to these two process.
A proposal is currently underway to re-establish this as a dispute resolution process, and this is not accepting disputes at this time.
